Max Carmichael CSM RFD Max Carmichael was born in Australia's country Victoria and spent most of his formative years in boarding school. On leaving school he worked in a variety of fields including agriculture, education, the Australian Army (including three operational deployments), and the Australian Public Service. Titles by Max Carmichael are "In Kilted Company, a story of Part-Time Soldiering", "With Skill and Fighting, Craftsmen of the Australian Army 1942 - 2014", "Attack on the Black Cat Track", "The Map of Honour", "The Cost of Duty", "Harry's War", "The Competitor (in co-operation with Frank O'Brien), "The Comet of Revenge", and "In His Kingdoms Great Defence". Max is now retired and lives in the Victorian gold rush town of Ballarat. His interests include writing, reading, gardening and Australian Cattle Dogs.
